Cozy and Warm

We all know that fall has finally arrived (even though it feels like winter in Chicago). One of my favorite things to add to each outfit is a scarf because they’re cute, comfy, and warm! A cute scarf can really dress up a plain top or sweater and they make the whole looking like a marshmallow in your puffy winter coat a little cuter. Here are some of my favorite ones!
This is one of my favorite must-haves for fall. This is more of a wrap so when you are cold you can take it off and wear it around you! You can find this adorable houndstooth wrap and many other styles at Veruca Salt.

I don’t usually shop at The GAP, but when I’m looking for outfits for work or school, I can usually find some pretty cute basics. I found the sweater and scarf (and bracelet) from Gap and figured they worked perfect together because of the colors. I love this look because the pattern on the scarf really dresses up the front of the sweater (because if you know me you know that I don’t usually wear basic clothing because I love patterns and prints).

This scarf from Express is a large infinity scarf (you can wrap it around three times). It’s so adorable and keeps you warm (and has sequins on it and who doesn’t love a little sparkle?!)
I actually love it so much that I have it in a nude color (below)
Happy Fall and Stay Warm!

The Tulle Takeover

Who remembers when the famous Carrie Bradshaw pulled off the tulle skirt look in Sex and the City?

Years later, people are still watching Sex and the City and Carrie Bradshaw’s impeccable style is still on trend. Here’s some of my favorite looks with the tulle skirt:
Lauren Conrad recently added a short and midi tulle skirt to her LC Lauren Conrad collection for Kohl’s.
Above is the short tulle skirt and you can purchase it here.
Fashion blogger, Musings of a Curvy Lady, is wearing the midi tulle skirt by LC. You can find it here.

The tulle skirt looks great with a sweater and makes a great holiday outfit. Dress it up with a pair of heels like the ladies pictured above. The price is great and the look is to die for. I can’t wait to go get one for myself this weekend!

Happy Shopping,

D.I.Y. Costumes

With Halloween coming up the question on everyone’s mind is, “what to be for Halloween?” The same question has been on my mind as I scroll through hundreds of ideas on Pinterest. I never like spending a ton of money on a costume, so I usually go through my closet and see what I can put together. Here are some fun and fashionable costume ideas:
1. Your favorite cartoon character- (mine is obviously Hello Kitty)
I tried to make this one more fashionable than a costume.

2. Mermaid
I simply tied a maxi skirt from Forever 21 and paired it with a swim top. The barefoot jewelry really makes the costume if you are wearing it indoors to a party!
3. Flapper or Great Gatsby
Look in your closet for some fringe and sparkly pieces and make the most “Gatsby” looking outfit you can. Don’t forget to add a headpiece!

A great costume if you’re going with a date
Or if you’re going out with your girlfriends
4. Your favorite TV character-
I dressed up as A from Pretty Little Liars and bought a blonde wig from Dollar Tree and cut an “A” out and stuck it on my dress. Such a fun and inexpensive costume and everyone loved it!

5. Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski or any other characters from Saved by the Bell
6. The Spice Girls- (Never gets old!)

Happy Halloween planning!

Gina Nicolette
